I was choosing between this and the black knight for my next post. And my instinct was telling me that the two would fit this week's topic. In fact I have already prepared the spot details and conducted a photoshoot with my girlfriend Tendinitis just a while back. I guess there are times when you just have to close your eyes, like the rook Henry below, and just follow your INSTINCT.;)
"Henry's O-O-O"
11 ¾ “ x 16 ½“
SOLD
O-O-O is my father's response to my Castles in the Air, which means castles queenside. And if you've been wondering about the name, this rook was named after his father, the British master Henry Bird.:P Enjoy the details everyone!

ReplyDeleteYour talent and skills are extraordinary. Such wondrous detail. The downy feathers beneath his tiny beak look so fluffy and soft. I want to just dive right in! I enjoy learning a little more about chess each time I come here. (Yes, I had to google Henry Bird.)
ReplyDeleteThis one is fantastic my friend, truly fantastic. Such wonderful imagination at work! Of course, his expression may be explained by where you placed your hand this time around :) - only kidding!
ReplyDeleteIt's always so wonderful coming here and studying your work, since they're so many intricate details in them. Another great one!
ReplyDeleteThank you everyone. I have to laugh out loud with Peter's remark. So that's what's been bothering me about the picture.:P And Bella, the chess series will soon be over, I hope to entertain you with my series about women. Indigine and Dion, thank you for coming back. Really appreciate it.

ReplyDeleteBjornik, your link disappeared from my list I don't know what happened. Today it is back but has no image. This is truly magnificent. I just love your style. Your imagination is wild yet the outcome is one organized explosion of a unified image. You are a fabulous illustrator. I am planning to go home this year. I hope we can see each other for coffee, that is, only if you are interested.
